Built in 2511 at the Celestine Shipyards on Beaumonde at the tail end of the unification war as a cargo hauler, by the time it was completed the war was over. It was purchased by a small corporation, and used for regular runs between Beaumomde and Persephone. The company recently failed and was liquidated. This ship was professionally maintained, and is still in top notch shape.

The company was called Shakespeare Enterprises. The other ships were named the Oberon, The Julius Caesar, The Puck, and The Henry (Probably because it was the fifth).
This particular ship was known as the Tempest. It was the fourth one purchased.

If it were possible for a ship to be cheerful, this would be it. Everything's neat and tidy, all wiring and ductwork is behind panels, all of the walls are light but bright colors.

Escape pods using high-thrust chemical rockets
carry survivors away from the site of a disaster in
space. Once away, the pod’s computer takes over. If
there is a world within range, the computer heads
for it, picks out a likely landing spot, and makes
the best entry possible, using the ablative hull of
the pod for a heat shield and aerobrake. If a world
cannot be found, pods will swarm together to wait
for rescue. The pod carries life support for five days,
but living in a space the size of a coffin for that
long is not particularly comfortable. It is possible
that a skilled pilot could override the computer,
take control of an escape pod, and guide it in for a
landing. Only pilots familiar with the pod’s system
would know the proper codes, etc.
Well-equipped spaceships (Alliance vessels and
high-end passenger liners) provide escape pods for
150% of the crew and passenger complement.
